Believe it or not, some Christians find this protest sign objectionable.
Imagine my surprise.
Parody might be contrary to piety, but I think anyone offended by the message in this sign is missing the point.
The salient point is that Jesus Christ would be a proponent of universal health care. I mean, come-on – the guy healed blind people and lepers and never charged them a shekel. Not only that, he persistently argued on behalf of the poor.
It’s really hard to picture the Savior as some sort of free-market capitalist being supportive of a for-profit healthcare system. If you disagree, please explain – I’m dying to hear what you have to say.
