A Facebook Encounter With An Extreme Tea Party Member – Surprise Ending!

by George on February 26, 2011

Yesterday I posted about a Facebook encounter with the friend-of-a-former colleague. His comment – to a comment I’d made in jest to my colleague – was a boorish response considered in parallel with the fact that we’ve never met.

I responded in kind and received a lengthy response that articulated all manner of deficiencies, both perceived and imagined, regarding President Barack Obama and his administration.

It sounded like the typical rant you might find on Fox News, only spookier, so I thought I would give him a point-by-point rebuttal, suggest he was an asshole, and call it a day.

About ten minutes into my research I made an astonishing discovery. Most of my provocateur’s lengthy diatribe against President Obama was plagiarized from an editorial written by another asshole, Ben Shapiro.

Ben Shapiro is yet another conservative hack that, despite a Harvard University Law degree, says incredibly stupid things.

I love it when a story pretty much tells itself.

In this case, my provocateur on Facebook – a man with a Masters In Teaching degree – not only believes the mindless drivel from an editorialist who thinks interning Americans of Japanese descent helped us win World War II, he engaged in the most easily detectible plagiarism known to man. He copied it off a web site.

Apparently, you can have a Masters degree in teaching and not understand how web searches work.

All is well that ends well. I’d begun to regret calling my Facebook provocateur an “idiot” in my initial Facebook comment – but I’m over that now. Below is my response to his lengthy Facebook diatribe:

You sir, are a fraud.

I didn’t think you were smart enough to come up with this all of this on your own, so I did a little checking and found that you plagiarized almost the entirety of a Ben Shapiro editorial. You can find it here:

You really are an idiot … and unethical, too.

The defense rests.
